[ as Viktor manages to turn on his video feed he opens his mouth, averts his eyes toward the ground, glances left, and fidgets with the bottom of his shirt before speaking. ]
Ah...um. It happened a-again. I'm somewhere weird again- c-can someone tell me where I am?- I uh.
[ Viktor tries to take a calming breath, and he closes his eyes, before letting his mind do all the work for him. it was so much easier to not fight the repercussions of his powers. ]
I-I'm nervous and- a little scared- and I-I can't calm down- I had one of these in Tano- but- [ a gulp of breath, it's hard to breathe when he babbles. he raises his free hand up to the crown on his head, nestled in his dark hair. plants. talking about them could always calm him down - ]
This crown is um- made of rowan...they're s-said to be magic and- to protect against bad creatures... I-In mythology it's said to...to protect someone from getting lost on a journey.
But...I-I don't think that means it can help me get home...does it... [ he looks pretty dejected, before shutting off the feed. ]

[Rubi is a little surprised, but it's more of a pleasant feeling. He's never sure what to do when humans show him terror.]
I've never met anyone like you before, either... oh, yes.
[And now he gives an elegant half bow.]
I don't think I told you--my name is Rubi. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Viktor... [Sort of quietly repeating it.] I like your name.
[Then he holds out his hand as if to grasp the human's--a handshake, maybe? Maybe. But he pauses mid-gesture as if he's unsure of taking Viktor's hand.
Well. He did get kicked for this last time...]

as he glances up he notices Rubi's hand and straightens up, nervously extending his own hand, before hesitating as well, curling his fingers to his palm. ]
A-Ah- um... [ he'll glance at the ground, flustered and nervous as he extends his hand again. ]
D-Do you want to shake hands? It...it's okay.

He tilts his head at the actual words, as if he's a bit confused. He is because well...
Rubi isn't sure how to shake hands. If he likes them, he usually greets them in a way he learned a few hundred years ago (though the last human he protected, Masumi, hadn't seemed to like it at all.) Perhaps Viktor won't mind though.]

Though, if Viktor does, he supposes the human can kick him as well.
The angel's skin is oddly cool to the touch and the texture is a bit harder, but it still feels basically like a human hand, or at least a humanoid one.]

W-Wha-ah- y-you- h-huh? [ Viktor's face is as red as it can go, his head is reeling and he's- he's so confused right now. he stammers out more unintelligible noises mixed in with 'what's and other frazzled exclamations. ]

[ poor Viktor is frazzled beyond belief. but he'll look down at his hand, before shakily extending his hand again, taking Rubi's in his own. it felt so much different than another humans hand, but it wasn't bad...
gently, he'll move their hands up and down. ]
H-Hand...shake. [ he says it slowly, the word being explained as literally as possible here. ]

[Yet he still seems puzzled. He lets Viktor take his hand and bring it up and down. His head even follows the motion in a sort of slow nod.]

[ Viktor's voice steadily fades to the most quiet, pathetic decibel it can. ]
O...okay. [ he'll let his hand go now, hands returning to his lap to fiddle with his shirt and device. ]

He still isn't quite grasping it, but the mumbled words themselves still make him curious.]
What do you do with them? Boys that are friends...human boys.
[Though really his only angel friend is a girl.]

[Rubi sounds rather surprised and for a long moment he just stares at Viktor. This boy is friendly and interesting, so that's a bit startling to the angel. Humans always seem to be surrounded by people and form many connections with them, even much quieter and less friendly ones.]
I'm not a human, but, would you like to be friends?

I can show you the inn, too. I think some of the humans stay there, or in houses--I don't live anywhere myself yet.
[He and his fairy friend have been hobos on rooftops and sleeping who knows where else.]

[ in the near future Viktor will make the very same fairy friend and promise you both beds of flowers as seen in the thread below. truly glorious.

[Luckily Rubi isn't very heavy, despite what he's made of. So he probably won't crush the flowers
